Writing a blog post to help PSGCNJ members was a no brainer. So I have written an article published on psgcnj.org titled “Use Twitter to Find Recruiters, Snag Job Interviews”.
Please read it here http://psgcnjnewsletter.wordpress.com/2013/12/12/use-twitter-to-find-recruiters-snag-job-interviews/ and let me what your thoughts are.
Today I applied for a few jobs online and saw the names of each recruiter who posted the jobs.
I did a search for each recruiter and guess what…they each had an twitter account. One had the job posted tweeted on their twitter account. I replied to that tweet and sent an tweet to the other recruiter.
One recruiter replied to my tweet within minutes of me sending that tweet. The other recruiter sent me an email scheduling a time for an interview.
I never used twitter in my job search and want to learn more. Please comment with any tips that would be helpful in using twitter in a job search.
I read an article by Jeff Bullas titled, “Why Wikipedia is a Powerful Marketing Tool for Personal Branding and Business”. From my college days, I remember Wikipedia as a joke of a tool with Professors not acknowledging Wikipedia as a true source of information.
This is a great article giving notice of using Wikipedia for branding purposes. Working with Social Media, I would have not thought to use Wikipedia as he stated how it pops up on Google Search as one of the top 5 spots.
When creating a Wikipedia page, it should generate traffic back to your website. It should also provide good content for the readers.
What are your thoughts about using Wikipedia as a branding tool? I would be more than happy to hear from you.
I know this is a bit late since we are a few weeks into 2013, but I would like to talk about Marketing Resolutions. People make New Years Resolutions and have quit by this time. I am giving a resolution for marketing purposes. Please see below and let me know what your marketing resolutions are for 2013.
1. Understand Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing further.
